String Lights and Fuzzy Feels

Hello :) I was sitting in my living room studying like usual, and I kept getting distracted by how pretty the christmas lights that are hanging in my living room. At night I like to turn off the lights and turn on only the Christmas lights. It just gives me this warm fuzzy feeling inside. No matter how late it is or how exhausted I am, it just makes me feel like all is right in the world. It's so weird how strongly environment influences mood isn't it?

White string lights - can find them basically anywhere! Walmart, Target - you name it!
Dance poster - this was left in the Apartment from the previous owner! I guess we got lucky. :)

I live in an apartment with a few other friends, and we added a few trinkets here and there in order to make our apartment feel a little more homely and a little less college dorm like. I find that personalizing living space in college is super important - it helps you feel comfortable and helps you get used to a new living space! .

Dorm rooms and small college apartments are often difficult to furnish and style - space is small, and after all, we are broke college students - we can't afford luxurious furniture or decor! I've found that the key is to keep it simple and add a few meaningful pieces here and there. That way there isn't too much going on, but you have managed to make the space your own.

Beatles Painting - Roommate had it in her room back home!

Stores like Target are great for finding personalized, cute decor at cheap prices. For larger furniture like sofas, we went to World Market and Walmart - they had really interesting but comfortable pieces. Another great option is Ikea. My friends and I have been meaning to go down to Ikea to get some cute kitchen ware - honestly, Ikea is to me what Disneyland is to a 5 year old girl.

As you can probably tell from the pictures, one of my roommates is a huge Beatles fan. The Beatles posters definitely give the apartment a very vintage look.

Our dining table - we bought it of the previous owner. Not sure where's its from, but I'm sure you can find a similar one at Ikea. The Beatles picture here is also my roommates. I love how our kitchen area is so monochrome - very trendy I must say - but completely accidental.

Hope that gave you guys some inspiration! I know it's hard to decorate and style in college - it's definitely not a top priority. But it's always nice to have something aesthetically pleasing to look at, and a well decorated room can always brighten up your day!

Hello :)

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hello there :) Welcome to my blog - Uh-oh Maggi-o! That's quite a pain to type out - but it's okay! I like the ring it has to it. :)

I'm a university student who loves to write, and I've been wanting to start a blog for a long time. I'm so glad I'm finally doing this! If there's one thing I've learned in university, it's that if I really want to do something, I shouldn't doubt myself or regret not having done it. Everything is an experience and a learning opportunity - you never know what might happen!

This blog will have everything from lifestyle to fashion to school to college and everything in between. :) Hope you enjoy!

Lots of love,
Maggi-o

P.S. I apologize in advance for the extreme use of smiley faces that you will probably notice in this blog.
